Appeal of Varvara Sidorova
Hello, I’m Varvara Sidorova, and for more than 20 years I have been engaged in art therapy, art therapy and intermodal therapy with expressive arts and contribute to its development and distribution in Russia. This site will introduce you to various aspects of my work, directions and milestones in the development of the intermodal art therapy community in Russia.
Intermodal therapy with expressive arts uses the languages of various types of arts and transitions between them in one individual or group psychotherapeutic session. We call the various types of arts - modalities of the arts, and the transitions between the types of arts - intermodal, hence the name "intermodal art therapy." In English, this area of psychotherapy or even wider than modern new anthropological practice is called Expressive arts therapy.
I believe that art brings us back to what is vital: love, passion, inspiration, integration, and to what is greater than us. Art speaks a language understood by everyone, closer to the language of our Consciousness-Body, because this language is entirely related to our human experience of life. And this conversation with yourself, others and the world in this language of expressive arts can be healing and healing for children, adults, families, groups and communities.
On this site you can get acquainted with the Educational programs (highlight - a link to education) in art therapy and intermodal therapy with expressive arts which I have been leading since 2005.at the Moscow State University of Psychology and Education, During the existence of the programs, more than 500 people improved their qualifications or received retraining. Now our program is an official partner of the Master's Program in Intemodal Expressive Therapy Arts in Switzerland (highlight, link to Education in Switzerland) European Graduate School, where I am a visiting teacher and our training program is part of the International Network of Universities and Training Centers that collaborate with EGS ( link to the fb page). Also, for more than 20 years I have been teaching in Regional programs (Kazan, Vladikavkaz, Omsk, Yekaterinburg, etc.)
Since 2012, with my direct participation, the Annual International Festival on Intermodal Therapy of Arts (festival) has been held, which has become the main annual event and mouthpiece of the community of therapists in expressive arts in Russia and a platform for communication among representatives of related approaches of both Russian and foreign specialists.
In 2016, on my initiative, the Association of Intermodal Expressive Therapy Arts (Association) was created, bringing together specialists in this area.
Also, since 2012, the ArtDom Center for Psychological and Social Assistance to the Population with the Methods of Art Therapy officially exists (ArtDom), where I work as a private practicing therapist (my page) with expressive arts, conduct regular client groups (Women's Self-Portrait) and individual consultations. Here you can learn more about the areas of work of the center and its employees - graduates of my training programs.
On this site you can also get acquainted with materials and articles (materials and articles) on various aspects of intermodal therapy with the arts of the leading authors of the field and with my research activities and publications. (my page)
I see one of the missions of my work in combining Russian and foreign fields in the field of intermodal therapy with expressive arts. You can familiarize yourself with reports on past events and with upcoming events, both Russian and international.
